Berlin’s Deutsche Oper has canceled performances of Mozart’s “Idomeneo.” The opera house said that the production’s reference to world religions, including Islam, raises an “incalculable security risk.” The Idomeneo performance shows King Idomeneo staggering on stage carrying the decapitated heads of Poseidon, Jesus, Buddha and Muhammad.

From Britain:

The British police are going to brief a panel of Muslim leaders before terror raids. The panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid. The panel members will have to promise not to reveal any intelligence they are shown but will not have to sign the Official Secrets Act.

Some sense. From Switzerland:

In Sunday’s national referendum, 67.8% of the Swiss voters supported the new asylum laws, giving Switzerland one of the strictest asylum and immigration regulations in Europe. The United Nations refugee agency, the UNHCR, described the referendum result as regrettable. The laws were supported by a majority of those voting in all of Switzerland’s 26 cantons.

From Spain:

According to former Spanish Prime Minister José Maria Aznar “Muslims should apologize for occupying Spain for 800 years.” Aznar said he found it surprising that Muslims demand apologies whenever they feel offended by remarks by non-Muslims while they never apologized for the occupation of Spain (711-1492) that began with an invasion from North Africa.
