Europe was doomed long ago, it's just taking a while to die in it's final death throes.

We're already seeing shifts in people political choices, i.e. Belgium's Vlaams Belang and Denmark's Danish People's Party. The European people tend to think more along the lines of 'right wing' as of late. The reprints of the Mohammed cartoons last year seemed like natural impulses in the shape of sharp revolt against attempted attack on Europe's current religion, which is FREEDOM OF SPEACH AND EXPRESSION.

So all in all, i think Europe won't fall completely and i think, one day it will emerge from those dark times. In the meantime, it will go through some very turbulent times in order to get to that light at the end of the tunnel. May be this coming 'islamization' of Europe is a test or a wake up call to shake current Europeans from their inertia and moth-eaten, post WWII guilt feelings about the Holocaust. I think the coming times will force Europeans to go back to their essence and if they won't stand the test, that's when Europe will truly die.

The following comment may seem too optimistic to some:

While i do agree with Broder and others, that Europe is in fact heading towards some dark times, i would also consider Broder's style of psychology, and where this type of thinking may come from. Broder is an older man of a Jewish background (and i hope people understand what i am trying to say), many of them tend to have an overly pessimistic view on life. Especially those who were young during or immediately after WWII. My opinion stems from personal relationships that i have / had with Jewish people. In fact, when i asked some about their stance on life, they do tend to agree that many times they view a cup of water as half empty. Now that is my personal opinion and that's how it's effecting what i think about Broder's comment.

In other words, people like Broder and Mark Steyn offer very good illustrations of the worst case scenarios. While their illustrations may look too awful for us to deal with, we should draw conclusions as to how to solve those situations.

Europe has a long rich history of wars and have gone through different extremes. I think Europe is inherently capable of switching from one extreme to another, i.e. from Nazism to Liberal decades and now the coming shadow of Islamism. The current inertia that it seems to encompassed by is caused by, and we know it, the elitist "Liberal" left. Their poisoning of the hearts and minds of native Europeans had worked well because they simultaneously received Freedom and Wealth. I'd really like to see what happens when the majority of Europeans simply won't be able to live a normal life. We saw what happened in Germany around the 1930s, after they've been utterly humiliated as a nation, the unthinkable occurred as a result even through Germany was relatively fine until WWI.

Perhaps that is what will pass. An EU Constitution based on Sharia law.

And the other thing is that even if Europe turns majority muslim - it won't last long. The way they fight and kill each other [ family v. family, clan v. clan, tribe v. tribe ]. Sort of a false positive but at least while you are in New Zealand or the USA you can still cash in your Nobel Physics Prize check.

Safety will be acheived only when the savages are more afraid of us than we are of them. They rape and murder they die either at the hands of the State or at the hands of the families of the victims. Vigiliante justice. Damned right! We've tried the Christ like turning of the other cheek and it's been a failure. These animals aren't impressed by "civility". They stabbed Amy Biehl to death in SA while she begged them for her life and while a crowd stood around cheering.

They reaction that the beast understands is violence. He is the one who "lives by the sword" and thus  as alien to our civilized nature as it may seem, he needs to die by it.

So true. Perhaps those of us expats who see from a distance what's afoot, more than those back in the West, have a clearer view of the collapse of the Old World.

My own off-spring, safely settled in Oz, will surely draw lessons as the historic nations of Christendom go down.

But Geert Wilders and others offer hope.

He sees that the EU, or EUSSR as we call it, is hell-bent on erasing national identities, and, whether they know it or not, widening the already open floodgates.

Cameron, on the other hand, cosying up to Islamist Erdogan, is prime candidate for the role of Quisling. Turkey's EU entry will be the beginning of the end.

Actually, this lady's analogy has some merit in situations where you are the weaker party and have no chance of winning.  Unfortunately, her statement suggests that European Caucasians are the weaker party and that is just not true in reality; albeit it might be the perceived reality.

The reality is that the continent lacks the fortitude to do what it physically is capable of and it will lose itself because of this emotional weakness.

Lord, grant me the strength to change the things I can;

the serenity to deal with the things I cannot change;

and the wisdom to know the difference.

I just do not get it, why dont you fight? My experience is muslims are pretty easy to scare off - they talk a lot, but when it comes to actually fighting in the open they are pretty scared. They prefer to lurk around, walk in large groups and so on.

But I mean, if you put some force on them they shut up. We have had some problems with an area here in Denmark with some Imams trying to rule a place with shaira - so the police banged some doors showed a little force - and all of sudden - no problems.

So I mean, if they are any more problems, we should just throw them out. Most of them are not citizens anyway, so there should not any problems in that. That is what we will end up doing here en Denmark I think, probably UK as well.
