Narrow-minded West Europeans

A quote from Vaclav Havel in an interview by the Flemish newspaper De Tijd, 22 October 2005
As we see it the Americans are more principled than the West Europeans in areas where one needs to adhere to principles, such as human rights, and where one cannot afford to surrender one’s principles. Intentionally not inviting Cuban dissidents, for instance, is one of these acts inspired by a narrow-minded appeasement policy. The Americans would never do such a thing.
