The city council of Rome has banned goldfish bowls. According to animal rights activists round bowls cause the fish to go blind. Monica Cirinna, the vice president of the city council and the leader of the Roman Greens, said: “It’s good to do whatever we can for our animals who in exchange for a little love fill our existence with their attention. The civilization of a city can also be measured by this.”
