A lovely bit of hypocrisy emanating from the cut-and-run Socialist government of Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero:

Spain’s largest sale of military equipment, to the Venezuelan government of President Hugo Chávez, looks likely to go ahead in spite of objections from the US.

To be fair, one of PM Zapatero’s “three pillars” to election last year was to improve Spain’s historic ties to Latin America. Little did we know that selling instruments of war and destruction was a key to this improvement in historic relations. Especially hypocritical coming out of the enlightened appeasement crowd.

Selling military equipment, how very American of you.
