The Bloody Seventh: One Year Later

Exactly one year ago, it was the Bloody Seventh. I was there. Having witnessed two of the mere handful of the mass-terror attacks perpetrated by Muslims in the West in the 21st century – the slaughter of 11 September 2001 being the other – I feel some familiarity with the effects the grim spectacle has on crowds. Surely there is some cultural mechanism at work here, though what specifically it tells us, I cannot say. There is, for the most part, a silent gaping wonder at the unfolding horror. There are the quietly weeping women. There is the occasional bawling man, who always appears to be in his 20s. There is the one person, again usually a young male, repeating something out loud: “Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh God, oh no.”

We neither rush to danger nor senselessly flee. We do not form mobs. We do not declaim to one another. We do not make new friends of strangers in shared sorrow. We do not fly to hate, which many point to as a sign of our superiority. I am not so sure: a well-directed anger is a good thing, and that we do not see it as often as we might strikes me as a sign of un-self-confidence rather than civilization. Indeed, what does one make of this, from the Bloody Seventh itself?

We went to Windsor in the expectation that Britons would be reacting as Americans did [on 9/11]: wandering about in a state of obvious shock, speaking of little else, and gathering at televisions dragged to the sidewalk to hear the latest.

Instead, when the cab deposited us in the Windsor pedestrian center, this is what we saw:

Britons going to a play. Britons chatting in cafes and pubs. Britons lounging on park benches. Britons haranguing one another over rent prices. Britons strolling about, enjoying the lovely twilight.

A one-year anniversary is an occasion for remembrance. But that assumes that there’s a memory to be had. I was wrong in my estimation of the effect of the commute-time massacres on British society. One year later, there is still the same madness and denial in the mother country. Iqbal Sacranie is still a knight of the realm. The Labour party still wants to ban the public mockery of Islam. The intelligentsia still indulge in pro-Islamist lip service whenever the subject of Israel arises. One can’t murder enough of them to change their minds, it seems. It’s almost as if they didn’t notice.

Which is why they will be reminded in time – as surely as the sun set on a bloodied London one year ago today.

India

In a decade or two, India will be the world's most populous nation and also its largest democracy.  It is largely a hindu nation with a sizable muslem minority and numerous smaller minorities.  Today, its president is a muslim, and its prime minister is a Sick.  All these facts speak well of India in a troubled world.  In addition, since the early 1990's it is gradually emerging from the shadows of economically-destructive statism/socialism to which its early politicians (after independence) had condemned it.  This means that democratic India also will develop economically and its people will become 'rich' in time because there is both economic and political freedom today.

At the time of independence and of 'partition', India's hindu leaders (broadly speaking) wanted to create a 'socialist democracy' (which kept it poor for over three decades and in the orbit of the Soviet Union) but they wanted a democracy (emphasis on the freedoms of the indiviual).  By contrast, its muslimleaders wanted to create a muslim state, not a democracy, and they did (with Pakistan)!!  Given the absence of both economic and political freedom, and no significant amounts of 'free resources' (like oil or other natural resources) Pakistan will remain poor in the foreseeable future.

Since the end of the Cold War, both India and Europe face similar challenges from intolerant radical islam. It remains to be seen which 'continent' will best be able to cope and overcome these challenges.   Early indications, in terms of maintenance of freedom-of-speech and of willingness to defend 'own values', suggest that India will do better in this respect than Europe.

Get your facts right!

Mr Traveler: I wish you dont use Hitlerian propaganda antics as far as India goes.
The very fact the islamists of India enjoying excessive rights and worse privileges committed death and destruction on trivial pretext of
*BUSH VISIT TO INDIA;
*DANISH CARTOONS;
* JERRY FALWELL 's bad remarks;
* KASHMIR RELICS;
* KHILAFAT movement of Caliph in Middle East; etc etc terrorizing and traumatizing
the greater civil society of Hindus proves beyond doubt, you are completely wrong.

The islamists dumped on India as criminal burden despite two separate fertile land masses (called Pakistan and then Bangla Desh) given to them in 1947, have been as bad as they were before 1947 as shown in the recent riots listed above.
You are actively contributing to "savage serial mass murders"
by dishonestly taking a distorted view of the Indian history of the past and present.
If you are a Christian, it is all the more serious.
As for "Hindus are too undisciplined and unfit to fight" you are again wrong. Indian army mostly made of Hindus won many of the battles and wars and in fact, got more than 90, 000 prisoners.
I suggest you keep off this topic, being both confused and confusing!!

@invite jesus

You advertise being a christian, so please show some christian tolerance and yes I am a christian by conviction.
In the killing between muslims and hindus since the 1930's the hindus win hands down with peaks in 1945-46-47. After that I can mention Ahmedabad, Baroda, Babri Majid etc.etc.
You are mainly referring to the 2 series of bombblasts in Bombay. The first in 1992 was the work of Dawood and his henchman "Tiger" Mehman. Dawood was recruited by general Gul of the I.S.I. and general Gul was specially recruited by Bill Casey and general Zia to fight the russians in Afghanistan by muslim extremism.
I don't know who is responsible for the recent blasts but it is a safe bet to say that it was an I.S.I. supported group.
The 90.000 prisoners you are referring to was the surrender of East-Pakistan (today Bangla-Desh) by the punjabi general Niazi to the Sikh(not hindu) general Arora Singh. Niazi surrendered after he received the message that he would not be supplied by West-Pakistan because Zulfikar Bhutto knew that a defeat in East-Pakistan would mean the fall of President Yahia Khan, which happened and Bhutto became Martial Law Administrator and became de facto dictator. I think these facts are pretty straight, I could also talk about the prosecution of christians by hindus, of the fact that 85 % of the Lok Sabah has a criminal record, of the fact that Manmohan Singh created the collapse of the Bombay Stock Market while he was governor of the Reserve Bank of India, but for all this don't take my word for it, read the daily colum of Tavleen Singh in Indian Express since 20 years. I am still confused, am I?

@Miriam

Pakistan can not find Dawood and the U.S. cannot find Bin Ladin. The Indian secret service RAW has thousands of operatives in Pakistan and they are also blind or don't they talk to the CBI? In the nineties everybody in Karachi showed me the house of Dawood in Defense Housing Authority, the best area of Karachi. Do not take the politics in Pakistan at face value please. Before Pakistan, Dawood lived for years in Dubai, totally under U.S control. Do I understand it? NO

@ invite jezus

Be careful to stick to the truth.
The anti-muslim riots of 1945/46/47 were started by Sardar Patel, a gujerati hindu, trained in the Soviet Union by the then NKVD,and henchman for Nehru. Millions of muslims were killed and by reaction hundred thousands of hindus were killed. The whole exodus idea came from Nehru with the blessing of the british because of the demographic explosion of the muslims which would have made them a majority in the future Indian democracy. But if you speak about the peacefull hindus be careful. I wouldn't know who is most bloodthirsty of the 2. As for the heroes of the 2 world wars, they were muslim and sikh,I knew quite a few of them. Hindus are too undisciplined and unfit to fight. That's why a Punjabi king created the Sikhs to fight the muslim invaders who came looting the Punjab every 5 years or so. The Sikhs were created by allowing a caste to eat meat and over the years they became stronger and more aggressive. They are still the core of the Indian army since the muslim officers left to Pakistan. This created a real life laboratory of vegetarian versus meat of 1 billion subjects and nobody studies it.

Barbaric serial blasts in Mumbai, a city of India

Today I was shocked again for the umpteenth time to watch the news on these savage serial mass murders yet again. Neither the Government nor the greater civil society is doing anything to stop it. The phony mahatma's evil legacy of pandering to the islamists continues and so, the barbarians are never held to account nor made to accept criminal responsibility for all their millennium long criminal record.

I find the greater Vedic civil society of India is super-normal while its barbaric tormentors are sub-normal. You hardly see any revenge attack most of the time, as if these citizens are christ-like - turning their other cheek time after time!!..!

Remember, they helped us too like good Samaritans during WW-I, WW-II [and during BOXER Revolt when our missionaries got butchered by the barbaric chinese]. Dont they deserve EU's financial grants and support to eradicate 70% poverty rate there ?

Failing to face the reality

I watched the BBC coverage of the anniversary and once again their has been a public avoidance of any real examination of the causes of the terror. Iraq is not the cause. A particular historic strand of Islam is. Until we face up to that there is little hope of really dealing with the matter. Find fault with Islam, even with a tyrant like Saddam Hussain, and Muslims in general will rise in defence of their umma. The Muslims hide behind the victim culture. Any outsider who critiques them is an Islamophobe. hence the craven attitude of our media to the Mohammed cartoons. The false prophet is triumphing.

Smell the stench, java not fine..

To grasp the gravity of the dire situation in which we got a tape right on 7-7 annual day, we need to see the wolf pack in the living room and smell its unbearable stench. Java coffee is not good enough..

Let us read this,
.......
CBI furnishes proof
Agencies

New Delhi, July 7: The CBI today said it has supplied all addresses of global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan to Interpol.

"We have given complete proof about his entire network in Pakistan to Interpol and Interpol believes us," CBI Director Vijay Shanker told PTI after his 30-minute meeting with Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

The comments from the CBI Director comes close on the heels of Pakistan approaching the France-based world police body and claiming that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was not hiding in its territory.

Pakistan had also asked Interpol to strike out Karachi as his address in a Interpol-United Nations notice issued for Dawood, who has been designated as global terrorist by the US State Department.

The Interpol headquarters in France sought a reply from the CBI, which informed that the presence of Ibrahim in Pakistan had been confirmed and this fact had also been acknowledged by the US Department of State that has named the don a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" (SDGT).

If we cant make the pakkis do their bit as a "key ally" for all the truck loads of money we are freely donating, more is wrong with us, than with the wily islamofascists..

Laxity of Governments?!

Both USA and UK have been to a large extent complicit and duplicitous in the unravelling drama of terror and barbarism of islamism.
Both have allowed in thousands of immigrants [both legal and illegal] and are now regretting it from the agonizing experiences of 9-11 and 7-7. [Latin American Governments like Brazil and Venezuela, are now opening their doors to the evil devils. Lula had an incredible pow-wow with arabs and Chevez with iranians]

That the rulers cant protect public from death and the authorities are too weak and ill-prepared to save the law-abiding tax-payers from destruction is all too obvious. The West has been way too slow vis-a-vis nazi-ism of Hitler, Stalinistic Communism, now islamism. All killed in the millions - islamism mostly in South Asia during islamic occupation and neo-colonialism of the contemporary period.

That the islamists are winning ought to be obvious too. They have several techniques. "Infiltrate, co-opt and defeat from within" are the steps as openly espoused by President of Pakistan.

That Pakistan is the incredible epicenter of most global acts of terrorism is obvious too but that country is being incentivized rather than dis-incentivized.

Solution:= Stop funding hate! Dont donate to any muslim however good he or she may seem! Boycott all their business and services as they boycotted Danish goods!!

Ha! Ha! Ha!  Sorry but I have not seen your football team...but I want to now.

I love England.  I am just worried for her.

I have run into other Britishers on other websites who feel as I do, but feel powerless to stop this onslaught to their culture and their very lives.  They need a voice.  They need at the very least a British version of www.jihadwatch.org or www.brusselsjournal.com

Thanks for that, Joshua, you're a little ray of sunshine! Do you think there is a single Londoner who doesn't believe that there will be more bombs?

Bob Doney

More bombs.

Hardly an inevitability, of course. Stoicism is an admired British trait; but it seems to have slid into fatalism. A pity.

England needs some java

England is like someone who just woke up from a bad dream, stumbling around half asleep, trying not to run into the walls on it's way to the bathroom or the kitchen.  In that half awake, half asleep state they are asking themselves, "Now...what was I dreaming about?  Oh. Right. Something about terrorists...can't remember.  I need some coffee, maybe I'll remember..."

Luckily there are some who have been drinking lots of coffee.

Londonistan by Melanie Phillips

The problem lies in a refusal to acknowledge that Islamist extremism is rooted in religion. Instead, ministers and security officials prefer to think of it as a protest movement against grievances such as Iraq or Palestine, or “Islamophobia”. They simply ignore the statements and signs that show unequivocally that the aim is to Islamicise the West."
