Stop the Execution
From the desk of Elaib Harvey on Fri, 2006-11-10 00:26
There are moments when the self importance of MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) surprises even me. This is one of those moments.
The Italian MEP Marco Pannella has called on the Italian government and the European Commission to express to the Iraqi Government their dissent concerning the death sentence for Saddam Hussein. Pannella “reaffirmed his availability to be appointed to Iraq in order to save Saddam.”
Go figure.
Pannella’s organisation is called “Hands off Cain.” The Iraqi court spoke out for Abel.
Thank God for the Death Penalty

Hussein now begs for his life and fools around the world run to save him.
Where was he when he was murdering tens of thousands of Kurds and Shi'ites with his weapons of mass destruction?
Smiling as his agents of death did his bidding.
But more importantly,
Where were these fools, decrying the death penalty, when Hussein was murdering those of tens of thousands?
Nowhere to be found.
That does not surprise me. Now they are more concerned about Hussein, than they are about the slaughter of tens of thousands going on right now in Sudan and Darfur at the brutal hands of Muslims.

Bush now begs for his political life and fools around the world run to save him.
Where was he when he was murdering hundreds of thousands of all kinds of Iraqis with his weapons of mass destruction?
Smiling as his agents of death did his bidding.
But more importantly,
Where were these fools, spouting their vicious Christo-fascist morality, when Bush and his poodle Blair were murdering those of hundreds of thousands?
Nowhere to be found.
That does not surprise me. Now they are more concerned about poor little George and his civil partner Tony, than they are about the slaughter of tens of thousands going on right now in Lebanon and Palestine at the brutal hands of Israelis.
30,000 of them dead Irakkies says Bush. 150,000 says the Iraqi PM. 600,000 says the Lancet Journal. Who cares? Apparently only Kurds count, says Anti-Islam boi.
Calling in some I-O-U's?

Well, with all that oil-for-diplomats money sloshing around Europe, I'm sure some of it could be ponied up for a donation to this organization by some of Saddam's former business partners -- just for old time's sake.
Can't have this!......

We can't hang Saddam!...He's one of our SOCIALIST brothers!......Can't hang one of our leftist socialist compadres who we have been in bed with low these many years (France, Germany, & Russia).......If it had been the Shah of Iran, or someone like Ariel Sharon, they'd be screaming for his head on a platter......Why?..Because they are/were Imperialists, Zionists, Rightists and in bed with the evil USA!!!!.......I think Mr. Marco Pannella and his band of EU pablum pukers need to be brought to the gallows themselves!.....

Feeling a bit challenged? :)
I don't think you understand my comment. I was referring to the hypocrisy of the MEPs, who support abortion and euthanasia of innocents while expending their energy to save the lives of murderers.
Whether I need a "basic" lesson in logic is your opinion, however from your tone it's apparent that you need a basic lesson in manners, you lout.
Framing the debate...

This article of Mr. Harvey's is clearly designed to elicit a particular response. Firstly, the organization 'Hands Off Cain' is against the death penalty anywhere in the world, including Belarus, the United States, and China. Secondly, while I am not opposed to the death penalty, I do not believe it should be applied to Hussein or Milosevic by foreigners or on foreign orders, although I have no problem with lifetime imprisonment.
Thirdly (@ ATHELING):
The organization would have naturally been against Ba'athist Iraq as it practiced capital punishment. However, it has more of a chance of preventing Saddam's execution by the current American-backed Iraqi "unity government" than it ever did to prevent the dictator's barbarism. And why would they be supportive of abortion and the euthanasia if they are against the death penalty? And how can one "advocate" abortion, except the Chinese with their one-child policy. I suggest you take basic logic in school pal...basic being the operative word.

I wonder where were they when Saddam was brutally torturing and murdering his own people?
And I bet these people also advocate abortion and euthanasia.
