The plain clothes officer in Seine-Saint-Denis said seven colleagues were attacked recently after chasing a driver who skipped a checkpoint. Their vehicle was torched and they narrowly escaped serious injury. “The high number of officers hurt means that police themselves don’t feel safe,” he said.

“That’s pretty serious, because if police don’t feel safe, you can imagine what the ordinary citizen feels,” added the officer who asked not to be identified. To protect themselves, police often move in large groups -- a tactic youngsters say is heavy-handed and overly aggressive.

Comte says the threat to police is so great in some neighborhoods they should exercise their “right to withdraw.” That means refusing to respond to emergency calls if they judge they cannot guarantee their own safety. “Frankly, it’s not worth getting your head kicked in for an end of year bonus of 200 euros ($256.8),” said the plain clothes officer.

The modern police have been transformed by Europe’s leftist elite into emasculated instruments of social engineering. They are no longer police forces. They are police services. At the behest of their governments their primary duties are a combination of bureaucratic targets, social care work and the imposition of politically-correct ideology on the ‘ignorant masses’. They are utterly incapable of dealing with the kind of violent disorder, criminality and subversion now being perpetrated by radical Muslims across Europe.

I have to agree with LanceGrundy. There is no doubt in my mind that the various Euro police forces can deal effectively...with law abiding citizens. Hmmm....there is a shortcoming with this plan.

They are no longer police forces. They are police services.

Maybe that evolution would be a good thing if we lived among Europeans only. What keeps the crime rate down among Europeans is not just police efficiency, but also our civilization, or maybe our lower aggressiveness.

Most immigrant violence has little to do with islam. Have a look at American crime statistics, and you will see that blacks and Mexicans commit more crime even though they are not muslim.

Unilateral disengagment...great plan and way to piecemeal away France's sovereignty over a part of her territory. Withdrawal and effectively turn it over to the Muslims for the "peaceful religion" just "ain't that peaceful".

Wherever Muslims create an enclave, they regard such areas within the host country as "their lands".

What is next? Imposition of Sharia law in "their lands"?
