Kapitien, the left certainly includes those you have listed.  It includes, also, those notably overlooked by most.  Multi-national corporations and bigger business is a primary vehicle for implementation and funding of leftist causes.  They are the first to engineer leftist thought into everyday practice.  Their willing acceptance and eager implementation through the work force, often before required by law, is what affects most of us in our day to day world. 

Private tax-exempt foundations, even those not considered political, are another primary contributor and implementor.  These are followed by what is referred to as Non-Governmental Organizations, most of which are leftist in philosophy and practice.  Leftists love to set up groups which are normally of little benefit to anyone, but which give them cover and a venue to act without philosophical tint being obvious.  The big push now is to insulate those leftists in power by creating more layers of bureaucracy between them and the voters.  The leftist activators operate in unpublicized sections of the bureaucracy while the politicians handle public reaction and exposure.

A big advantage that leftists have in operating in this manner is that they avoid constitutional scrutiny particularly in the US, as most constitutional protections are available as against governmental intrusions but not those of business or non government private or social organizations.

The Left - and by 'Left' I am referring to Neo-Marxists, multiculturalists, and political correctionists - consists of disgruntled members of the middle class: professors, teachers, lawyers, and labour managers and directors. Some are merely trying to maintain their current positions, others are trying to advance themselves.

The low or poor class never asserts itself; rather, sympathetic members of the middle class do it for them, using their angst to usurp the high class. This phenomenon has been present in every peasant revolution during medieval times as well as the French and Russian revolutions.

Currently, the middle class largely supports contemporary society; however, were that to change, revolution could indeed sweep through the West.
