Carjackers Better Migrate to Europe

A quote from Autoblog, 15 February 2007
[Tennessee legislators] have filed bills that would increase the rights of citizens to bear arms and use those arms with deadly force in certain situations. Like during a carjacking. Filing the bill was Rep. Ulysses Jones and Sen. Reginald Tate, two Memphis Democrats. “I’ve heard a lot of support for this. It’s time to give citizens the opportunity to protect themselves. Right now, we’re at the mercy of what I call ‘scum’,” said Jones, a Memphis Fire Department paramedic.
[...] These so-called “No Retreat” laws change the burden of attackees so that fleeing isn’t the only option. Standing your ground and defending yourself and your property is allowed instead.
Flamethrowers!

Glidingdoc: "In response to an epidemic of carjacking in Sout Africa, a local firm developed a flame thrower mounted under the car. At the first sign of trouble, push a button on the dash and presto, the problem is cooked to perfection."
Several years ago a South African immigrant (an Afrikaaner) told me this and I did not believe it. Apparently it operates by a pedal, not a button, and flames shoot out on both sides. The manufacturer and designer claims that it will only blind the attackers and the police seem content with the device, however, others assert that serious disfigurement and even death are possible, even for passers-by; apparently, though, the device can be set so as to not "toast" innocent passers-by.
According to both police and the designer, the consequences of using this flamethrower are overwhelmed by the possibilities of not using it - of "having your wife raped and children murdered" - as South Africa is notorious for its crime, especially murder and rape.
The South African told me that carjackings can be provoked even by a pair of cheap sunglasses that criminals see and want to steal.
Glidingdoc: "My American wife tells me that this wouldn't be allowed in the US. Pity really as I am a rotten shot!"
Laws tend to reflect realities rather than abstract theories, which are only used to justify them. Depending on Hispanic immigration and crime rates in general, American society may find itself in the same position as the Brazilian and South African ones where segregation (either officially or in gated communities), ghettoes, gangs, terrorism, rape, murder and the need to defend oneself constantly are omnipresent.
Toast the Carjackers!

Another supporter of the right to defend oneself...

Me too...
Another Florida resident with a concealed weapons permit and supporter of the 2nd Amendment and the NRA...
I remember the riots in LA years ago where people were beating people and looting and burning shops. I applauded the Asian Americans up on the roof of their stores shooting at the looters. They were doing what the Police SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING.
We need to continue to defend our Right to Bear Arms...we'll need them one day to deal with Muslims in this country...its only a matter of time.
infact this is required in

Police protection

It's been proven again and again that police can't protect peaceful people against gangs of thugs, as in car burning in France and Belgium, in Malmo, and in most muslim riots, etc...
I don't even alarm companies are that useful. Sure, they can alert the police. But by the time the police gets around to the scene of crime, the criminals would be gone. Likewise with fire department. It takes many minutes to get thru 9-1-1, many minutes for fire truck to get to the location. By that time the house would have been burned.
Instantaneous response is what needed. And that means taking these situations into one's own hand if possible. That means owning a small fire extinguisher, personal alarm, pepper spray, etc...
Guess what? In some place pepper spray is forbidden too. OK, there remain karate classes. I have overpowered bigger guys with quick hands.

Texas also has a concealed weapon law. Once you take a certified course you are allowed to carry a concealed gun. A lot of women have taken advantage of this.
This law already exists

...in Florida.
Speaking as an American...so many people forget the second amendment to the Constitution. Personally, I own no firearms, but I have no problem with the 98% of those who do own them with no intent to commit a crime. I hate maudlin clichés, but...guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Also speaking as an American...
I live in Florida. I own several guns: a bolt action rifle with scope, a shotgun, a .45 cal. pistol and a small pocket pistol. I have a concealed carry permit and am also a member of the National Rifle Association.
More guns...less crime

I would certainly recommend to any American readers of this post that they resist gun control at all costs. Law-abiding people are now utterly defenceless in modern Britain. We have been emasculated by nanny state Leftists and are now at the mercy of the heavily armed tearaways who rule our streets with their ‘illegal’ guns. As this article shows, through their constitutional right to bear arms, our cousins across the Atlantic still have the right - and the means, to defend themselves. In some cases, it appears, up to and including the use of deadly force.
I imagine there is a strong gun control lobby in the United States but I would hope that the American people have the sense to see the effects such legislation has had on British society. Since the 1920 Firearms Act [which placed the first serious limitations on privately owned firearms] successive governments have told us that the state would protect us. As with the promise that the abolition of the death penalty would mean life sentences that lasted for life, the state has reneged on the deal. Do not let the same thing happen in America.
Lax Justice in France
Submitted by Bruno on Fri, 2007-02-16 11:31.
Criminals can already come to France because its justice system is very lax for violent crimes like carjacking : Whence criminals would get 20 years in jail in the US for such a crime, the french judges consider it as just a theft and disregard the violence endured by the victims : Penalty: 3 years in jail, sometimes less...
This contempt for human life by the left-leaning french justice system will bring a rightist backlash in the coming presidential elections.
