No Tintin Please, We’re British
From the desk of The Brussels Journal on Wed, 2007-07-11 22:02
A quote from The Daily Telegraph, 11 July 2007
The Commission for Racial Equality has labelled a Tintin book racist and criticised a high street book chain for stocking the title. The CRE says Tintin in the Congo makes black people “look like monkeys and talk like imbeciles”. It has called on Borders to remove it from sale due to what it deems offensive content. A CRE spokeswoman said: “This book contains imagery and words of hideous racial prejudice, where the ‘savage natives’ look like monkeys and talk like imbeciles. [...]’
The CRE was contacted by a Borders customer who saw the book in a London branch of the chain last month. A spokesman for the chain said it was moving the Tintin book from the children's to the adult graphic novels section of its stores.

Tintin: Stamp of Approval?

Quote:
In many countries across the world, though most often in Europe, postage stamps have been released that depict scenes from Herges comic book series. The Adventures of Tintin...
A Belgian stamp issued in 2004, celebrated Tintin in the Congo. An identical stamp was released in,yes, you've guessed it,the Democratic Republic of Congo.

unborn babies have a life and what they, these muslim women did to that poor mom's son is the truth. I have been following what this mom has been writing here and i am of the opinion that it is all the truth. it is sad that a crime of this proportion is taking right here on connecticut soil and it is high time that justice is done. muslim women are not at all the holier than thou variety that they are made out to be. This is a BRUTAL crime and it is obvious that this poor mom and her son are regular VICTIMs.

Submitted by Atlanticist911 on Sat, 2007-07-14 12:26.
They were responsible for the demise of the Gollywog doll [...] and now they are targeting Tintin.Where will this madness end,and who or what will be next? Here's one possible target:
Rintintin.
Check out those 'French puppets'.They look decidedly "Gollywoggish" to me.

If Tintin (pronounced "Tin-Tin" in English) had gone to New Guinea or Melanesia instead of the Congo, would "They" now be trying to rewrite Tintin's experiences with the Cargo cultists?

They banned gollywog dolls, they banned 'The Black and White Minstrel Show', and they now wish to tame Tin-Tin.Yet,they allow rap lyrics like this:
Nigga what what bitches callin' my name
Homies hut hut No Limits still in the game
See I'm a money making nigga like Bill Gates
Me and my lil cousin toss bitches from state to state
Lil' Beezy he off the heezy
He in the threezy smoking weezy
I don't give a f*** about you hatin' I'm chasin' fortune and fame
I got every ghetto bitch screamin' my name.

They are responsible for the demise of the Gollywog doll. They are responsible for the demise of one of Britain's favourite variety shows ever; "The Black and White Minstrel Show" ***.And now they are targeting 'Tin-Tin'.What next,The Jazz Singer (1927) ?

*** Trivia Notes: In 1961,this show was the most popular variety show on British television, winning the world famous 'Golden Rose of Montreaux ' award that same year.
The live show 'Memories of the Black and White Minstrels' toured the UK to packed houses as late as 2004.The show was performed white-faced and featured the stars, medley's and costumes from the original TV series.

Repressive Borders?
Submitted by Flanders Fields on Thu, 2007-07-12 12:50.
Why should Borders comply with this request? They are being no better than Google in resisting censorship by repressive governments. Why are bigger businesses complying with these requests (ie. demands) for censorship by the multicultis? Why are some of them instituting PC and MC measures even before governmental demands or pressures? Business is not so innocent as many would have us believe and many of them are actively engaged with and funding the leftists and such doctrines against our societies and free peoples. They are subverting the rights of all by doing so.
If it was positioned correctly, it should be placed it next to the EU and CRE plan expanding freedom for citizens of Europe. Oh, I forgot - that section doesn't exist. The closest genre would be fiction. At least Tin Tin should enjoy more sales now that it is in an area frequented by customers.

I used to read and enjoy TinTin and Asterix, as well as many cartoon strips. I guess they all appear racist to the spokeswoman.
I bet that Congoleses or Zairois don't speak good French, given their ravaged countries where food is a precious commodity, and schooling rather rare. Maybe De Beers' workers are still colonialists.
