Al Qaeda Is Unhappy
From the desk of The Brussels Journal on Sat, 2007-09-29 12:47
A quote from the BBC in The Daily Mail, 29 September 2007
Al Qaeda is unhappy with America and other countries getting involved in places like the Middle East. People linked to al Qaeda have used violence to make this point in the U.S.A, and in other countries.

While on the subject of "legitimate anger" of the people of the Middle East, does the author of this letter garner any sympathy from you I wonder?

You say that you have fully acquainted yourself with the complex history of the region prior to reaching this conclusion.OK,LibertyLad,then why don't you enlighten us with your knowledge and wisdom?
You could begin by telling us how the West SHOULD have responded to various events unfolding in the Middle East, commencing with the fall of the Ottoman empire and on down to the present day.Next, perhaps you could explain to us how your own plan of action/inaction would have made the Middle East less problematic for the West than it is today. Finally, perhaps you would care to tell us where Israel features in all this.I'm certain that a separate analysis of the creation of this tiny state will prove to be important in the formulation of your 'Grand scheme'.

I assume you have fully acquainted yourself with the complex history of the region prior to reaching this conclusion.
Your assumption is correct,

Your assumption is correct, do you disagree ?

Then why are Muslims killing Buddhists in Thailand? What has that got to do with US foreign policy in the Middle East?
Secondly, the very existence of Israel is an affrontery to Islamic countries in the Middle East. Do you suggest that the US should abandon its friendship with Israel, which is the only true democracy in the Middle East?
Thirdly, have you ever ACTUALLY read the Koran?
When people like you say that you "do not support Islamic terrorism BUT it's because of US foreign policy" then you are in essence SUPPORTING terrorism. There is NO JUSTIFICATION for strapping on a bomb on oneself and blowing up INNOCENT CIVILIANS.
Now, let's hear how well the Leftist establishment indoctrinated you to answer my points.
Legitimate anger

While I wholly oppose terrorism and the tenets of (radical) Islam, anyone claiming that the people of the Middle East don't have any reason to be be pissed off about the meddling by Western (not just the US but many of the major European powers as well) governments in their affairs in the last century is suffering from voluntary historic myopia.

My vote for 'most dangerous person alive' goes to Ahmadinejad:
Ahmadinejad's overlooked message
Jerusalem Post September 28 2007
By Caroline Glick
During his visit to New York this week, Iranian
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attacked every basic assumption upon
which Western civilization is predicated. Ahmadinejad offered up his
attacks while extolling his vision of Islamic global domination.

You often opine that memri is nothing more than a zionist propaganda tool and that by the devious use of editing it falsifies and manipulates all the material it releases.
Question: Which statement(s) made by either the interviewer or the interviewee do YOU consider to be false and why?

Exorcism of Al-queda

We should intensify our provocations of this demon, now that we clearly see that our strategy has been effective in irritating him.
The hatred of the West, of America, and of Israel is structural in Islam, and cannot be contained or mitigated...nor is it subject to our consent.
We must always stand for Israel, for the Europe of Old, for America and the West, and for Christendom as a whole. It's a "Wholly" War.

US Appeasement Probably Ineffective

Even if the US did the right thing and cut Israel loose and hung all AIPAC 5th columnist traitors and pulled out of Iraq I think the US would still be a target of Al Queda. Just the price of being a superpower.
