Stay Away. Switzerland Is Not Paradise

A quote from Swiss Info, 30 November 2007
Switzerland is funding a bleak anti-migration television campaign in Africa to discourage would-be migrants from trying to seek their fortunes in Europe. The hard-hitting advert, which has been aired on prime-time television in Cameroon and Nigeria, depicts the life of freshly arrived migrants in Europe as one fraught with problems and dangers. [...] "Don't believe everything you hear. Leaving is not always living," is the final message of the film, which the SonntagsBlick newspaper said was broadcast on Nigerian state television at half-time during a friendly football match between Switzerland and Nigeria last week. [...]
Swiss Justice Minister Christoph Blocher, whose ministry controls the Migration Office, said he supported the adverts. "We must show Africans that Switzerland is not a paradise," he said.
This is nonsense, I see that

This is nonsense, I see that EU also financed this advert. Instead spending public money on such unnecessary and ineffective projects they should rather prevent those people from entering our lands.
They aren't listening

Good luck to the Swiss, unfortunately the EU is a paradise. You get your lodgings and food coupons on arrival. You can disappear in one EU country to resurface in another where the benefits are more lucrative and immigration is more lax. Until that stops and illegals send the word back, or better yet are physically sent back, I doubt many Africans are buying into that ad.
Mexican illegals do not get anything more than emergency health services and a place in public schools(not sure how that is mandated) and whatever private charity they can find. They don't receive housing or food coupons for the government. When work dries up, as it is in housing construction now, many move back across the border.
It is really ridiculous isn't it, that sovereign nations have gotten themselves into this mess. The socialist elites in Europe are wedded to the horde of unwanted immigrants as they are new constituents for them. It's the same deceit that the Democrats here are doing. Bush no better either on this issue. At least we aren't as muzzled as our European counterparts, our politicians are more wary of us and we do have a conservative presence in the national media thanks to FOX.
hmmm

Do films marketed to Africans always feature patronizing opening/closing music?
And... I didn't know would-be refugees in Africa had TVs :)
