The issue is so GRAVE that this is probably the gravest in our lifetime. In fact all civil organizations of all EU countries should start uniting  their powers to prevent the ratification of the Treaty.

The content of the Treaty, as well as the circumstances within which it has been forced onto the member states are so alarming that if this Treaty will be ratified, that will be the end of freedom for the nations of Europe.  It will be much worse than marxism, because this new form of dictatorship will be called democracy, therefore we will have no justification to fight for our freedom. We will live in an orwellian world and that world will be called freedom.

The Lisbon Treaty is in fact the EU Constitution - with only minor differences between the two. In the latter the emotional factors associated with the common anthem and flag are omitted, yet the Treaty gives up national independence on the most relevant issues such as foreign policy, labour rights, the common law and tax and social security systems.

There are many articles analysing some aspects of the Treaty but we would need to read much more about the real implications and effects of it, if this Treaty will ever be ratified. Below I quote and comment on (in capital letters) some parts from the article: "EU leaders sign reform deal" (the source is at the bottom):

"It cuts the size of the European Parliament and the number of EU decisions which require unanimous support, hence reducing national vetoes."
THIS VERY FACT ONLY MEANS GIVING UP NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND WOULD BE ENOUGH FOR ALL DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL PARLIAMENTS (IF THEY WERE DEMOCRATIC) TO IMMEDIATELY WITHDRAW FROM THE TREATY. IF THEY DO NOT DO SO, THESE PARLIAMENTS SHOULD BE RECALLED FROM THEIR POSITION.

"It also includes a European charter of fundamental human and legal rights, which Britain and Poland have refused to make binding."
IF DEMOCRACY AND RESPECT OF HUMAN RIGHTS ARE NOT BINDING, IT SIMPLY MEANS THAT NATIONAL GOVERNMENTS ARE FREE TO USE VIOLENT OPPRESSION WHEN THE PEOPLE OF A COUNTRY DISAGREES WITH ANY OF THE EU MEASURES

"Many governments, including France and the Netherlands, have said they will not hold referendums to ratify the treaty although eurosceptics deem the text to be largely the same as the constitution and want national votes.
"
THIS IS SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS. AN UTTER OVERTHROW OF THE VERY PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRACY.

"Only Ireland is constitutionally bound to hold the kind of referendum which did the damage in 2005 and sparked the EU's worst ever crisis."
NOT ONLY IRELAND! IN FACT THE LISBON TREATY IS AGAINST MOST NATIONAL CONSTITUTIONS. THE LEADERS OF THE EU COUNTRIES SIMPLY IGNORE THIS FACT. THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE LISBON TREATY - IN MOST COUNTRIES - IS AN ACT OF OVERTHROWING THEIR NATIONAL CONSTITUTION.

"In order to avoid an unpredictable public vote, the British government was granted key opt-outs on foreign policy, labour rights, the common law and tax and social security systems."
IT IS BY DEFINITION A DICTATORSHIP WHERE A GOVERNMENT TRIES TO "AVOID AN UNPREDICTABLE PUBLIC VOTE" AND SIGNS A CONTRACT BEHIND ITS PEOPLE'S BACK

ANOTHER QUESTION: WHAT JUSTIFIES THAT THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT MAY OPT OUT OF COMMON FOREIGN POLICY, LABOUR RIGHTS, COMMON LAW, TAX AND SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM, AND THE OTHER COUNTRIES MAY NOT? DOES NOT THIS SIGNIFY THE DICTATORIAL NATURE OF IT ALTOGETHER? DOESN'T THIS MEAN THAT GREAT BRITAIN HAS MORE POWERS AND MORE INDEPENDENCE THAN THE OTHER COUNTRIES?

THE EU INSISTS THAT THE TREATY WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR ALL OF US , WHICH IS BLATANTLY A DICTATORIAL STATEMENT AND LACKS ALL DEMOCRATICALLY JUSTIFIABLE CONSENSUS. THE NEW EU WILL BE A DICTATORIAL RULE - A SECOND UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND IN FACT THE TWO UNITED STATES WILL BE STRONG ALLIES. THE SO CALLED NEED OF A COMPETITION BETWEEN THEM IS JUST THE EXCUSE FOR ESTABLISHING THEIR POWER OVER ALL CITIZENS OF THE WORLD.

Precisely because the new EU Treaty is "One Giant Fiddle",I believe it deserves to be placed on permanent public display,and here is my suggestion for a design of the building in which the damned thing should be displayed.

This Lisbon agreement will seem to end the public’s ability to vote on continuing with the movement toward an EU Constitution. It has been obvious for many years that the leaders of the EU don’t want to have the public vote on the direction the EU is taking.

The liberal members of the EU worry about having a revised referendum voted down by any country.  So they don't want any further public unhappy opinions to be displayed by a negative vote. If this passes you can forget voting. This is a drift toward Marxism.

I wonder how long it will be before the E.U. Gestapo starts arresting bloggers who tell the truth , the one thing that dictatorships cannot stand is the searchlight of truth .
