Be Afraid Because America Has Learned Nothing From Europe’s Predicament
From the desk of The Brussels Journal on Mon, 2008-02-25 13:52
A quote from Spengler at The Asia Times, 25 February 2008
Be afraid – be very afraid. America is at a low point in its fortunes, and feeling sorry for itself. When Barack [Obama] utters the word “hope”, they instead hear, “handout”. A cynic might translate the national motto, E pluribus unum, as “something for nothing”. Now that the stock market and the housing market have failed to give Americans something for nothing, they want something for nothing from the government. The trouble is that he who gets something for nothing will earn every penny of it, twice over.
The George W Bush administration has squandered a great strategic advantage in a sorry lampoon of nation-building in the Muslim world, and has made enemies out of countries that might have been friendly rivals, notably Russia. Americans question the premise of America’s standing as a global superpower, and of the promise of upward mobility and wealth-creation. If elected, Barack Obama will do his utmost to destroy the dual premises of America’s standing. It might take the country another generation to recover.
More credit to give around

>Dubya has destroyed the conservative movement in America as well as the GOP.
I would lump the Republicans in Congress with that too.
I don't know what those idiots were thinking but I hope they're happy now for the alienation they caused.
America is going down the tubes

America's only hope in the presidential election was Ron Paul but primary voters are hooked on Big Moma, Obama and McCain. All are horrors as Big Moma is a power mad psychopath, butcher of the Balkans and uber neocon who is well funded by the defense industry. Obama is an outright global Marxist who will fit in well with the Davos Dungheap crowd and McCain is an open border NWO freak who claims he will keep the wars going for a hundred years.
America is about to cease and desist. With mounting debts, wars financed by China and Jihad nations, a currency approaching banana boat repubic status and an economy that is just a flush away from 1929 misery, our nation and its voters have traded constitutional liberties for Euro socialism.
It really doesn't matter if Big Moma, Obama or McCain become our next El Presidente as they all have the same agenda. McCain can't win against Obama because he's a war mongering neocon and 70% of the American people want out of the Bush wars.
But March 4, the Texas primary, will probably determine if our next El Presidente will be Big Moma or Obama. Republicans are so disgusted with the GOP that they are either not voting or voting 3rd party. Dubya has destroyed the conservative movement in America as well as the GOP.

@ achille:
SOMEONE will be elected the next U.S. president...either McCain, Clinton or Obama. McCain has zero chance. He is Bush^2, but crankier. Clinton is now trailing Obama in delegates and is plunging in the polls. The Texas & Ohio primaries are March 4th- if she doesn't win both, it's very unlikely she could beat the O man. Obama is being pushed by the media and elite as the reincarnate Kennedy. It is said he will bring forth a new Camelot. People swoon in his prescence. And Oprah is for Obama. And what Ophra wants, Oprah gets.

Obama can't be the next president of USA fortunatly!
He is backed by the european leftists, many islamic organisations ,he just received the support of Fara Kahn the leader of "nation of islam" in USA.
Last but not least Clintoonians will "fire" him and make obvious that the man is only a show man with little substance,a MSM creation...
The race is only beginning...

Think of these lines of attack:
Obama wants to meet with terrorists and take away your right to own a gun.
Obama was snorting cocaine while McCain was being tortured as a POW in Vietnam.
Obama wants to meet with a head of state who says the Jews are bacteria and should be wiped out (no, Jews don't control the US, but they have a lot of money to give to campaigns).
And, during a recession, where are all those tens of millions of dollars flowing into Obama's campaign really coming from?
Most of what we're getting now is being communicated through the Democrat-controlled mainstream press. Conservatives have alternate avenues of getting their message out. In 2004, even though the Democrats had a big money advantage (largely due to George Soros), it wasn't enough.
