@ kappert

You have previously stated that you do not believe in right and wrong,good and evil.Therefore,based upon your recent post, I am compelled to ask you the simple question,do YOU support the 'right' of pedophiles to argue their case for sex with children,yes or no?

Thinking with the "wrong" head . . .

Me thinks that kappert is thinking with the small head, instead of thinking with the large head.

My friend; time for a heads up!

Anyhow, I give Dutch press merit for asking such a volitile question. Wish the Canadian press would have balls to ask the same question! Oops-- that wasn't a small headed obsevation-- honest!

@ marcfrans

Doesn't this statement of kappert's disturb you? "On the positive side...the pedophile movement can openly express its views on child-adult sexual relations".

Positive?

 Well,it certainly disturbs and sickens me.

Biggest?

@ Atlanticist

The subject was the "biggest mistake in Dutch history" in the opinion of the Dutch public.  Presumably that public sees muslim immigration as a threat to freedom of speech, and thus in the long run to all other major manifestations of individual freedom (that inevitably derive from freedom of speech or opinion advocacy).

However, Kappert does not see it that way.  He seems to think that a variety of differing (over time) opinions held by a variety of specific groups, concerning a diversity of topics (such as gender roles, sexual practices, presumed "inequalities", "discriminations"), not to mention real perversions, would constitute a more appropriate subject for "Dutch worries"!

Such appears to be the result of the modern education system....ignorance about the source of past progress and head-in-the-sand when contemporary dogmas are being questioned by the public (the common - less educated - men in the street).

@marcfrans

"... to be the result of the modern education system....ignorance about the source of past progress and head-in-the-sand when contemporary dogmas are being questioned by the public (the common - less educated - men in the street)."
I may question some notions in this paragraph. 'Past progress' seems to be a continuous, improving line, and history shows that cultures rise or decline despite of their 'being civilised or progressive'. Contemporary dogmas are always questioned and being adapted, the Catholic church moved along with contraception, divorce, yet, as we see in the Netherlands, long term dogmas are overruled by common/public behaviour. The book I mentioned, describes essentially the partnership of human beings in a legislated environment (by policy or believes). Nothing better than sex to show the discrepancies.

@kappert

Not according to 57% of the Dutch population it isn't.And I bet you'd get an even greater percentage of Iranian respondents disagreeing with you if you asked them.Which reminds me,when are YOU going to respond to MY  'Iranian Questions'?

Dutch worries

Allow me to talk about a more interesting issue. The role of the family and the position of men and women is central in Dutch society. Excluded from the labour process, women were supposed to derive their task, fulfilment, and satisfaction from marriage and family, whereas men frequent prostitutes above European average. Together with Ireland and Sicily, the Netherlands has the lowest rate of working wives and economically independent women. Even today, many politicians support this inequality of social roles. In recent decades, however, the position of the housewife has gradually declined, a factor that may impact on sexual problems for women and men. There has been a strong segregation between Catholicism and Protestantism, with many subdivisions among the latter. Due to different, very powerful religious influences, extreme contrasts in social and sexual behavior exist between various groups. For instance, one fundamentalist Protestant political party still discriminates against women in membership and office eligibility, although over half of those voting for this party are women. On the positive side, this has resulted in a willingness to cope with differences in opinion and a rather liberal attitude towards varying social groups and lifestyles. The pedophile movement can openly express its views on child-adult sexual relations. The homosexual movement is widely respected, and the Protestant University of Amsterdam houses the world’s only chair of transsexology.

@ kappert

Men frequent prostitutes above European average??? Where? In Amsterdam? Tourists. Rotterdam? Seamen. In both cities the Dutch aren't a meaningful percentage of clients for prostitutes.
The rest of your comment is sickening, you see sexuality as the main human activity and standard of appreciation. Get a life.

@KAPPERT

Still don't see what relevance your book recommendation has with Di Montani's post.Do you?

The biggest mistake ever

... is the title of the article. The supression, legislation, and ignorance regarding our sexual behaviour is the biggest mistake a society may commit.

re:Dobedobedo 2

Is there any reason why you would recommend THAT particular book in response to Di Montani's post or was it yet another inscrutable  kappertism? Personally,I think you missed a real opportunity here.You COULD have recommended a book by Benjamin Hoff entitled 'The Tao of Pooh'.(or is it 'The Pooh of Tao'? I can't quite remember).

@Atlanticist911

Probably, the joy of an orgasm is one of the few things all humans have in common. The book I recommended offers a research in history and anthropology on this interesting item. Really surprising!

Allegiance

What about pleading allegiance to Christ for His sake and for the sake of those for whom He has suffered, died, and has been resurrected?  What about pleading allegiance to Christ and rebuking the devil...have you been baptized?  What about pleading allegiance to Christ for the sake of all those who have never truly encountered Him?  I could go on and on...fred, it is of no use to singularly proclaim your faith or to depend upon the Slavs or the Africans.  I know the slavs, and the Africans.  I worship with them, I am Orthodox.  They are not capable of saving even themselves.  Sorry!!!  They have slaughtered more innocent people than even the Muslims, if that were even possible!  Damn them all!  The West holds the key...America to be exact, yet another key is needed, as well.  The key that America has not found, and the one that the West has discarded.  It would be best to forget about baneful appeals to "advantage," and in their lieu evangelize the risen Christ.  I don't know about you, but I do not live in a post-Christian world.  There can be no such thing, in any objective sense.

Dobedobedo 2

I recommend a good book:
Jonathan Margolis (2004): 'O' The Intimate History of the Orgasm.

Dobedobedo

Do something. We all must DO something. To be a Christian is universal, to be "Dutch," or "American," or "French," or "Czech," is local. Islam is neither universal, nor is it a "local" phenomenon within the West. Repudiate Islam, and repudiate Muslims in the West. Welcome converts from Islam to Christianity, and welcome Muslim women as refugees from lands fleeing misogynistic persecution. Demand allegiance to Christ and each adopted country. Eschew all attempts to masquerade Islam as a true religion. Islam has no business in the West, or anywhere else, for that matter. The business of the West must be to convert Muslims to Christianity, as did St. Francis of Assisi. The West sleeps...we seem to have grown accustomed to thinking that the future belongs to allah, aka...satan. Make no mistake, it is our duty to save Muslims, and if we do not...they will "save" us. It is an "either-or" proposition, as also says Bernard Lewis. "Either we convert them, or they conquer us." So, do something. Now. Islam must be converted, and Europe must be re-Christianized. There is no other solution, as the outcome has already been "wagered" upon the experience of the past of 1300 years from the audacious "bet" of mohammed that DEMANDS the destruction of Christianity. We rise to the challenge that threatens the authority of Christ, or we fall as did Constantinople...when traitors within, opened the secret door to the city of God to the armies of Mehmet the pedophile queer and butcher of babes.

Immigration and religion

As a Christian I would deplore anyone having to plead allegiance to Christ for advantage. You forget we are a "post-Christian society" modelled mostly on atheist, materialist lines. The ultimate justification for everything is either that it will make people prosperous or that it will make them healthier, live longer etc.
I take a lot of hope in the fact that the Gospel is powerful in the former Soviet Union and moving westward, it is also powerful in sub- Saharan Africa and moving north. Atheists may not like it but only a strong faith can resist another.
