I have to wonder how many of the wives were going through divorce proceedings, and were legally separated whenever they had their affair.
Plus any report based upon polls, especially when the story doesn't give any links to the poll's statistics, tend to be the typically sensationalist story all newspapers love to run.  

Yeah, a lot of western women seem a bit fucked up after their liberation. Marriage isn't anymore what it used to be, in belgium there is a divorce rate of over 71% (http://antwerp.wordpress.com/2008/04/02/dont-marry-in-belgium-divorce-rate-hits-71/)* and of the other 29% couples that stay together do it "for the children". I wonder why guys still marry, it really is a bad deal for a man, don't do it! A good marriage is a blessing, but a bad one is a hell, and chances are big that it'll be a hell.

A lot of christians and certainly most muslims are taking the word of their scriptures and reproduce like rabbits. Some problems are heading our way in the near future, we can't have more than 1 earth. We need less children but better raised children, kids raised by a single mother (in divorce the children are automatically assigned to the mother, along with alimony etc) are far more likely to become criminals (http://www.divorcereform.org/crime.html).

*I suspect the rates are a bit wrong because we have a quite large immigrant (muslim) population, and they marry someone from their "homeland" to "legalize" them in the country and divorce soon afterwards.

Ummmm.... Doesn't that assume they have spouses?  For black mothers in the US certainly far fewer than 53% are married.
