Verbal Camouflage

A quote from Diana West in a National Review Online interview, 2 July 2008

I have come to believe that the Western way of life – which I’ll define in brief as life lived according to Judeo-Christian-evolved morality and liberty – is imperiled by the demographic spread and influence of Islamic ideology and laws. Notice I didn’t say the spread of “Islamism.” Or “Islamist-ism.” Or “Islamofascism.” Or just “Wahhabism.” Or “fundamentalist militant extremism.” Over the years, I have used most of these “ists” and “isms” in my column, trying them out one by one until I got to the point where I realized they were serving as a distraction, a form of verbal camouflage that turns our attention away from the ideology and laws of Islam itself. In the cause of not-giving-offense – the highest cause of Westerners-turned-multiculturalists – we have prevented ourselves from undertaking a hard-eyed appraisal of Islamic ideology as a whole, jihadism included, and engaging in a serious discussion of how to contain it.

Diana West is dead on in destroying the semanitcs myth, it's "Islam", forget the "ists" that is undermining western civilization. Look around since 9/11 and just where are the "moderates"? Surely by now some lone compelling figure or organization of note should have arisen within Islam to speak for them. Chrisitianity isn't that unmindful.

I wish no physical harm to Muslims that aren't terrorists, but, their cultural/religious baggage is never going to work in the west. European elites know this, but, simply don't care.

"Among dhimmi populations, it is the silence of an insecure, fearful, self-censoring society. In the West, it is also the silence of the post-adult, identity-less society, the one that never quite grows up into itself. And the similarities between the two are alarming.

How could Islam not resist exploiting this rot in the West. Unless we take responsibility for the destruction by the silly, the narcissistic, the childish lefty utopians that have ascended the past decades, we will never win this war.

Stomping Cockroaches

After the useless discussion you are allowed to step on as many cockroaches as you are able to get. It is just that they have multiplied wildly during the period of discussions, and the whole thing has gotten out of hand while you talked.

No, I think the favored solution will be to teach Arabs about our way of life. The aim is to ensure that the famous Judeo-Western way of life will continue to exist in the future (without us).

Anyway, you are not allowed to jump to action like a redneck. You have to engage in some useless discussion first. That's how they do it among civilized people.

Like maybe don't let them in to the west by the millions to live on welfare and breed like cockroaches? That might be a good start.
