Wallonia Loves France (and France Loves Wallonia)

A quote from The Economist blog, 30 July 2008
49% of Walloons said [they would be interested in union with France] (up from 29% less than a year ago). [...] In a way, it is odd that Walloons are so keen to run from one minority status to another: unless you buy into the Flemish theory that Walloons are keen on Belgium because it provides them with fat cash transfers to subsidise their welfare state and bloated public payroll. Are they just looking for a new patron, to keep funnelling the cash into corrupt, post-industrial socialist fiefdoms like the city of Charleroi?
A quote from EU Observer, 30 July 2008
On the French side, 60 percent of respondents would like to join-up with their Belgian neighbours, up from 54 percent in previous surveys. The majority in favour is even higher in bordering regions such as Pas-de-Calais.
I'm always confused

I always forget which side of the Belgium split I'm supposed to be on.
