Daily Fact of Life

A quote from the International Herald Tribune, 1 November 2005
Sarkozy says that violence in French suburbs is a daily fact of life. Since the start of the year, 9,000 police cars have been stoned and, each night, 20 to 40 cars are torched.

Dear Brussels Journal, I am a United States Citizen who has seen immigrant groups terrorize my own neighborhood here in America. France needs to be couragous enough to send these people back, if they cannot appreciate the nation that helped save their parents from poverty, or mistreatment. Immigrants of today are not only greedy, and violent, but do not respect the people, or the values that are already in place. We need to rise up and send them back! -Mr. Sprague

Sorry, Mr Sprague, too late! Typically these are not immigrants, but the sons and grandsons of immigrants. They are French by birth, French by citizenship, and there's nowhere to "send" them.
Back to the drawing board.
I hope the USA doesn't adopt a policy of sending their descendents of immigrants back "home" - it's going to be a bit of a squash round here. Mind you there'll be lots of room for the buffalo, and only a handful of native Americans left to hunt them.
