Saddest thing

The saddest thing about this "event" is that I had considered entering this competition I (or any of us for that matter) would not even given it a millisecond's thought to sending this piece of trite shit as an competition entry. Sometimes I think we set high standards for ourselves when any piece of crap will not only do but win. What did it take for him? two minutes with photoshop? European taxpayers paying for this? Jesus. Schoolchildren would have come with far better and brighter ideas.

The author himself is in awe.

I, for one,

For me, the logo evokes the ideas of haphazardness and money wasted on pork-barrel projects, if not outright corruption.

As such, I, for one, consider this new logo of our EU overlords a job well done.

Excellent

What an excellent logo - it should adorn every letterhead in the EU and the Commissioners and employees of the EU should wear it on their T-shirts. Nothing better symbolises the EU than this logo with its profound expression of childish naivety....................

Out of context

Anyone's free to read whatever they want in what I wrote, obviously, but I merely meant that I found the logo ugly. Not that I don't believe in the ideas embodied by the logo.

The idea of unity in diversity, of inclusiveness, of democracy, of reaching out to other traditions, of making sure that decisions are taken at whatever level they should be taken (regional, national, supra-national), of all that Europe stands for is being done a huge disservice by this atrocity of a non-logo.

I think the author of the thing put it best:

“I almost not believe that I was able to convince the jury with my creation and can hardly imagine that it will appear all over Europe”, said the overwhelmed winner of the logo competition.

Yes indeedy.

Glad not to be a part of your "togetherness"!

"A kidnapper who demands a ransom and is too cowardly to use his own handwriting? For shame"

I think it is appropriate since the citizens of each country in Europe is held HOSTAGE by a government that is increasingly becoming more tyrannical against its own citizens. i.e. greater limitations or free speech, free press, no right to home schooling, no rights to carry concealed weapons or have weapons, and slaves to the tax revenue collectors for the utopian dream of socialism (a failed concept and they don't know it yet). And a government(s) not protecting its people against Islam and denying the right and/or ability of the people to protect themselves by taking (or not allowing) their guns.

I need to do a banner for America.... I think it will be called:

SOVEREIGNTY

By the way, I wish I could have visited Europe earlier when Britian were British, France were French, Italy were Italians, Germany were Germans, and Spain were Spaniards.

Now I expect to see Mecca lite....

I guess I will have to go to Little Europe and DisneyLand in Orlando, FL USA, to see what the genuine Europe was once like and if I see a stinking Muslim there I will puke on the German beer, i.e. original German beer from Milwaukee...LOL

this logo is a joke

I am with the editor and Nuke on this one.

This logo doesn't embody anything remotely functional, clever, or even aesthetic. It looks unfinished, as if it's done by an amateur, with no basis of ideas and concepts of creating an effective logo. The only thing that this 'thing' embodies is tasteless randomness, that is not thought out properly. All of which, ironically embody the naîve ideas of the current PC dream that's present in the political elite.

I am surprised arabic characters aren't inlcuded in this one, as part of this so called 'together' concept. Heck, probably the next one will.

logo or ransom note

A true representation of multi-culturalism, written by the hostages themselves. I see no characters from the language of the ransom demanders, however. Probably just as well. Wouldn't want them to be mistaken for a cartoon.
