I'm glad you enjoyed your two day visit to Amsterdam. Might I suggest that you could stop feeling grateful to the United States the moment the Europeans take responsibility for their own national defense?  Sixty years after the end of the Second World War, the Germans still pretend they're too ape-shit crazy to be trusted.  Likewise, the rest of Europe acts like they still need someone to take care of them.  The next time hundreds of thousands of refugees threaten to spill over your borders (like those from Bosnia and Kosovo), you and your European comrades should do the honors of bombing civilians and wasting hundreds of billions of dollars and risking the lives of your airmen and leave America out of it.  Then you could stop feeling grateful to us.

I felt a sense of peace, a sense of being connected to the people and nature, and that I was never alone.

Then I came back to my country (US). I go to a grocery store (that's where the bakeries are) and started talking to someone. I got a blank stare as if saying "what do you want from me?" I said, "excuse me" and walked away.

I am not saying Holland is a utopia, I am not saying US is a hell. It simply was my personal experience.

As far as Western Europe is concerned, I don't really consider any of them a true U.S. ally nor are they dependable when U.S. asks for help. France I consider an adversary more than an ally. Only Great Britain is a nation that I still hold any affinity to and I fear for her both as to surrendering her soverneignty and the internal Islamic threat.

I guess what is frustrating is that Western Europe operates as if it is under a strong delusion blind to what really is going on in the world. In fact, their approach to the world is the same as that prior to the rise of Hitler. They rather appease than fight. They rather stand on convenience that principle. The U.S. contributed to the socialism in Western Europe. Since WWII to the end of the Cold War and beyond, we, the U.S., carried pretty much the defense burdon and associated costs of western Europe.

The Western Europeans were able to take what monies that normally would be used for defense and used them for the "socialist utopian".

As an American I am tired of footing a large portion of the world's defenses, i.e. Japan, Korea, and Europe. I think we need to ween Europe off of our subsidizing their defense and they have to make the hard choices, i.e. guns versus butter, and in what proportion. Then live with the consequences.

As far as WHEN Europe can quit being ungrateful for our saving their asses in WWII? Oh the various governments stopped being grateful sometime ago and only lend lip service. Their actions and Anti-Americanism has been endemic in their societies for some time.

I would answer that that all depends on Europe an the avenue which it pursues....History has show that Europe can't get up without the U.S...it was proven during WWII, it was proven during the Cold War, and it will be proven once again with the onslaught of radical Islam perforating Europe's nations...The reason being is that Europe, thru it's one valition, has gone in a politcally correct leftist direction that has seen record numbers of unemployed individuals, socialized welfare states, out of control immigration, and a cowardly appeasment policy toward it's own defense....In short, Socialism (at the behest of the people?) is what has lead to this....When can Europe get up again without American help?....That my friend depends on Europe taking a hard look at itself and looking at what direction it wishes to go......

The British are just grateful Hitler declared War on the USA in December 1941 as we had nothing left to sell the US for weapons. All Britain's investments in the USA were liquidated, gold reserves, leases given on Caribbean islands, it is hard to know what else the country could sell to buy weapons from US on "Cash & Carry" basis which was all Congress would permit.

You've taken it out of context AND failed to understand what Jesus Christ was saying:

Here is what He said in MT 7:1: "Do not judge lest you be judged. 2 "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 "And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 "Or how can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."

What Christ was instructing was/is that "for in the way you judge" you too will be judged". He was instructing a Christian to be careful in their judgments and examine themselves first before making judgments. But Jesus Christ was NEVER instructing a Christian to stick their heads in the sand and/or be brain dead. Just that when you JUDGE use a RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT.

There was a nice programme about the British summer (!!!) on the BBC tonight - people hunting butterflies and chasing clouds - you know, the sort of thing crazy British people do when they're not invading other folks' countries.

There was a cricket team composed entirely of Muslim lads up in Yorkshire. Who the hell do they think they are? They were seen cheering the England footy team, and, worst of all, beating all-comers in their cricket league.

I'm not sure our social fabric can stand much more of this. Something must be done.

Can you change European "leadership"? If you can, then there may be a chance to stay and change the course of what is coming. Unless the Eurorats are tossed out, the people are not going to have a say in what happens to them. I would be curious if that number is offset by talented immigrants.  Amsterdam seems to be growing again.  The Euro just completely killed the economy here (man made recession?) but it does appear to be getting better.  Dutch people have always been travelers.  Doesn't really mean they are not coming back either.

Wait, on second read I declare shenanagens! This quote

Everything I have read refutes that. If you add the 1) number of illegal immigrants deported + 2) non-illegal immigrants denied visa renewal and deported I am sure that is much higher than 3) total immigration from non-western countries.

A simple walk around amsterdam will confirm that. Most of the non-western immigrants here seem to be legal and have been here for some time. If you add the death rate I would not be surprised if the population is actually shrinking.
