All I have been hearing is how Russia's population is in decline, everyone smokes and drinks heavily, the average life span age is 59, and the birth rates are painfully low among the native slavic population....How is this resurgence???...As for Finland adopting the EU Constitution, I guess another one just bit the dust!...:-(.......
Finland merely wants greater access to the the economic and security structures of the European Union. Finns tend to be fairly xenophobic, nationalistic, and protective of their fiscal policies; however, their private sector is quite competitive and first class, and they are wary of a resurgent Russia on their doorstep.
I would say it's a good signal that Mr Barroso has to make a special point of saying that the project is still alive. This suggests that the patient is very sick indeed.
