Greece and Ireland: Traditional Societies No More

A quote from the Russian press agency Novosti, 31 March 2008
Greek authorities are considering adopting a law that would allow same-sex couples to marry in a civil ceremony, […] The move follows a request by the country’s National Commission for Human Rights that proposed a civil union registry that would allow both same-sex couples to marry. Parliament could approve the law in a few months, national media said. […] The Greek Orthodox Church, which strongly opposes same-sex marriages, called the possibility a “catastrophic bomb” which threatened Greek society.
A quote from The Irish Times, 1 April 2008
The [Irish] government is finalising legislation on civil partnerships that will extend many of the same benefits and legal obligations of marriage to same-sex couples [...] Under the heads of the new Civil Partnership Bill, which runs to more than 200 pages, same-sex partners will be able to to avail of marriage-like benefits in a range of areas such as property, social welfare, succession, maintenance, pensions and tax. […]
While there were plans to recognise various forms of “non-intimate” family units – such as elderly brothers sharing a house – Government officials say these plans are too complex and have been shelved.

Monarchist: Democracy must be simply destroyed...
And if the future King of Poland admired Islamic societies and decided to colonise his kingdom with Africans and Arabs, and demolish Polish castles and churches to make way for mosques, what then?

I don't recall from history European absolute monarch sharing such ideas but it fits perfectly to many modern democratic politicians. Even Frattini the commissioner of the EUCCP babbled something about bringing more Muslims to Europe. I wont cry if euro-leftism would be replaced by Islam, one enemy would be replaced by another. There are things that I respect about Muslims, euro-left don't deserve for any respect.

Atheling, do you read this? Democracy must be simply destroyed...

I support homosexual civil unions. Homosexuals are voting and tax-paying citizens, and therefore have the right to request their governments to permit civil unions. This matter is not the province of the Othodox Church: it is a matter to be decidedly democratically in parliament. Were the government forcing the Church to perform marriage ceremonies for such couples, then I would object.
The Brussels Journal must have a unique interpretation of traditional society. Authoritarianism is as much a feature of the West's traditional social landscape as piety.

Again, so what?
What if

What if the elderly brothers who share a home in Ireland have sex with each other. Would they qualify then? Naw, it's too complex.
