Secularist Europe Silences Pro-Lifers and Creationists

Last week, a German court sentenced a 55-year old Lutheran pastor to one year in jail for “Volksverhetzung” (incitement of the people) because he compared the killing of the unborn in contemporary Germany to the holocaust. Next week, the Council of Europe is going to vote on a resolution imposing Darwinism as Europe’s official ideology. The European governments are asked to fight the expression of creationist opinions, such as young earth and intelligent design theories. According to the Council of Europe these theories are “undemocratic” and “a threat to human rights.”

Europe Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet

A quote from Theodore Dalrymple in The American Conservative, 18 June 2007

Only the French, with their republican model, have gone in for a salutary monoculturalism, but unfortunately their economic and social policies helped, if not to create, at least to maintain Muslim ghettoes. On one hand, the children of immigrants were told they were French; on the other, they were de facto excluded from the rest of society. Ferocious resentment was the result, and to coin a phrase, we ain’t seen nothing yet.

Bulldozer Arrested in Brussels

Members of the European Parliament belonging to the Ind/Dem Group launched their campaign for a referendum on the
revised 'Reform Treaty' to be agreed at a future Intergovernmental Conference in Portugal. The gimmick was to have a large inflatable bulldozer parked next to the European Council summit drawing attention to the fact that the Heads of Government were preparing to 'bulldoze' public opinion.

The Bulldozer was parked in a scrap of land described rather grandiosely as the 'Zone of Free Expression'.
The following pics tell their own story,

Common Sense and the Accepted Wisdom.

We like to assume as we idealize democracy that common sense and officially accepted wisdom interrelate. Alas, this relationship can frequently be a negative one. What is generally accepted can and will often make no sense. To some this might suggest that the common man using common sense is unfit to partake in politics.

Ex-Muslims Oppose Appeasement

A quote from Reuters, 20 June 2007

“Ex-Muslims” hoping to change the terms of debate about Islam in Europe will launch a British group in London on Thursday. The Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain will be the latest addition to groupings that began in Germany in February and spread to Scandinavia in May. A Dutch group will hold its launch in September. [...]

“Too many things in the media and government policies have been geared to pandering to the political Islamic movements and Islamic organizations,” Maryam Namazie, head of the British group, told Reuters[...] “I hope we’ll get a lot more attention and begin to change the debate,”

Back in the EUSSR

In the late 1980s the USSR, Ronald Reagan's "evil empire," imploded. America might soon be confronted with another evil empire. Tomorrow, Europe's politicians meet in Brussels to discuss how they can revive the constitutional treaty, often called the European Constitution, a bloated blueprint (more than 160,000 words in its English version) for transforming the European Union (EU) into a superstate.

Now Who’s the Turkey?

This report from Staffordshire just sums up what is wrong with the British prison system.

Four heroin addict prisoners received thousands of pounds in compensation last year after being forced to go cold turkey. Two inmates at Stafford Prison, one at Sudbury Open Prison and one at Dovegate, near Uttoxeter, were each paid £3,807.

Blair Pulls Out the Pin

A quote from UKIP leader Nigel Farage in The Sunday Express, 17 June 2007

[Angela Merkel’s draft] treaty is the [European] constitution by another name. The agenda has always been to sneak it in under another guise. It is a deliberate and deceitful attempt to prevent free and fair referendums not just in Britain but all European countries. [...] Blair will sign away our future - just days before he leaves No 10 - and his legacy will be a hand grenade with the pin pulled out.
