Palestinianism has been the most effective tool to divide, weaken and destroy the West. But this process could only happen because an institutional apparatus, the European Community (EC) – which in 1993 became the European Union – could impose Palestinianism over all its member-states as a common foreign policy.

Those who count in ”Euromerica” reassure us that the (Iraq) “war is lost.” Whether this is true unless Washington acts on the basis of the allegation, is a good question. Just think of what “they” said when the military campaign against Hussein begun. It was to be an endless conflict. The wager on defeat will pay dividends only if US politics let it happen. Currently the trounce has many willing mothers, such as the folks who welcome any reverse of advanced societies. While failure is welcome news, it is not the official enemy who deserves the credit for prevailing. Like good cakes, the rout is home made. The country that invented instant food (add water) and instant gratification fails when it stumbles into its own trap. Whatever takes more than five minutes before the pay-out is a failure as “it does not work”. And that assessment suffices to bring about another defeat abroad.

A bus driver in Malmö, Sweden, has been suspended after he allegedly tried to stop a woman from boarding because she was wearing a burqa. According to the woman the driver said that her burqa made her hard to identify. “I have never before needed to identify myself on a public bus. Wearing a burqa is my own choice and doesn’t make me any more threatening than anyone else,” she says. The woman was allowed on the bus anyway, but claims that the driver looked at her angrily. The driver has been suspended while an investigation is carried out. He has also been reported to police.

This has to be one of the worst cases of Western dhimmitude I have seen. Malmö is by far the worst town in Scandinavia and may soon have a Muslim majority. While rape numbers are reaching unprecedented heights, Muslim women are fighting for the right… to wear the burqa. Notice that the bus driver was punished for not allowing this. You cannot make this stuff up. Every time you believe it cannot get worse, somebody proves you wrong.

On May 6, the French will decide the future of their country and the rest of Europe. If they elect Nicolas Sarkozy as their next president, they will do the West a great service.

On Sunday, Mr. Sarkozy, the candidate of the center-right UMP party, garnered 31.1 percent of the vote, while his opponent, Segolene Royal, won 25.8 percent. Miss Royal is the wife, or rather the "civil partner" (they are not married), of Francois Hollande, the uncharismatic leader of the Socialist Party. "Sarko" and "Sego" now have to run the second and final round of the presidential election.

I watched the first round of voting on Sunday night with a group of Sarkozy supporters in a bar in a city their candidate has described as “one of the greatest French cities” – otherwise known as London. There are now so many French people living in Britain (the rough estimate is 300,000) that Mr Sarkozy made a campaign stop in London in January. Then he portrayed his audience as exiles, driven overseas by France’s economic inertia. But in his speech on Sunday, his message was much less radical. There was some shaking of heads among his London supporters, as their man embraced much of the language of the left – promising to “protect” French workers from “unfair competition” from overseas.

José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Spain’s accidental prime minister who was thrust into office by the Islamic terrorists who set off a series of train bombs in Madrid only three days before the 2004 general elections, has just marked his third year in power.

Since taking office, Zapatero, who is dogmatically attached to the ideas of the European left, has presided over controversial domestic and foreign policies that range from legalizing gay marriage to supporting the separatist aspirations of regional Basque and Catalan nationalists to selling weapons to the authoritarian regime of Hugo Chávez in Venezuela.

It seems to be taken for granted that promoting the integration of the EU, an increasingly totalitarian political entity that is appeasing Muslims at home and abroad and may thus be paving the way for a new world war, should make you a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Today in Luxembourg the EU Council of Ministers are discussing this document, Proposal for a Council Framework Decision on combating racism and xenophobia. [pdf] It is an appalling piece of legislation that has to be stopped.

I would just like to pick out my favourite aspects.

(5a) Member States acknowledge that combating racism and xenophobia require various kinds of measures in a comprehensive framework and may not be limited to criminal matters. This Framework Decision is limited to combating particularly serious forms of racism and xenophobia by means of criminal law. Since the Member States’ cultural and legal traditions are, to some extent, different, particularly in this field, full harmonisation of criminal laws is currently not possible.

I decided to write this essay following the riots in Malmö this weekend. Malmö is Sweden's third largest city and by far the worst city in Scandinavia when it comes to Muslim aggression. I read recently that an Arab girl interviewed in Malmö said that she liked it so much there, it felt almost like an Arab city. Native Swedes have been moving away from the city for years, turned into refugees in their own country by Jihad, not too different from the non-Muslims in some regions of the Philippines, southern Thailand or Kashmir in India, or for that matter Christian Serbs in Kosovo.
